RESOLUTION NO. 162 15
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO CHILD & FAMILY
SERVICE FOR BUS TICKETS FOR THE FAMILY STRENGTHENING SERVICES
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, Child & Family Service (CFS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that
aims to strengthen families and foster healthy development in children; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the CFS — Family Strengthening Services Program is to reduce
child abuse by helping clients attend parenting classes and receive counseling and therapy; and
WHEREAS, CFS clients must attend a variety of social -service appointments and often
find themselves without transportation; and
WHEREAS, the Mass Transit Agency provides island -wide transportation and
expiration -free bus tickets; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Mass Transit Agency to provide a grant to Child & Family Service for the purchase of bus
tickets for the individuals engaged with the Family Strengthening Services Program; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Mass Transit Administrator and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
