Mt. Chairperson
Members of Hawaii County Council
My name is Lily Kong.
As the previous district supervisor for Hawaii County Economic Opportunity of Kona, I
know how very important the transportation program is to our elderly. The distance of
services is so far apart. These are the services areas and centers that H.C.E.O.C.
provides.
Area: Honokohau Mauka Program center under
Kailua areas the county
Hualalai up Holualoa. Holualoa Imin Center
Honalo-Kealakekua to Captain Cook Hale Hookipa Center
Nani Olu
Yano Hall
Hale Hoonanea
Others -Programs
Home client to dialysis for transportation
Hill Heaven to dialysis
Kona Head Start
Senior shopping from center -banking and post office
H.C.E.O.C. also services Handicapped.
On the 21° of April 99, Kona had held its district council meeting and was informed of
may be cut in transportation and also the other centers. All were very upset of the cut in
their transportation.
How am I going to do my volunteer work?
How am I going shopping? Doctor or pick up my prescription?
Questions like these?

I would like to ask the Council Members to consider our elderly for they had given their
time to society.
I know, when program are taken away from them, it's becomes worrisome, anxiety and it
effects their everyday life and causes illness.
I appreciate your time and attention.
Mahalo,
