Re: Host County for the National Association of Counties (NACo) Year 2001
Western Interstate Region (WIR) Conference
Submitted for your consideration is a resolution which expresses the support and commitment of
the Hawaii County Council as the Host County for the National Association of Counties (NACo)
Year 2001 Western Interstate Region (WIR) Conference.
NACo is presently in a selection process for future WIR Conference sites. A resolution
expressing the support and commitment of the host county is apre-requisite for county
consideration at the selection process.
It is requested that this resolution be waived from Committees and considered at the next
Council meeting.

RE: Attached Communication
Pursuant to Section 1(e) of rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County
of Hawaii, this written approval is submitted in regazds to Communication No. 166 ,
which submits for consideration a resolution regarding the support and commitment of
the Hawaii County Counci] as Host County for the NACo Year 2001 Western Interstate
Regional Conference, waiving said referral from the Committee of Finance in order that
appropriate action can be taken by the Council.
In reviewing the contents of the referral, it is deemed advisable that such waiver be
granted.
