Dear Mr. Tyler:
I am writing this letter in support of the continuation of non-profit funding -
Bill#43.
It is my hope that the Hawaii County Council continue its financial
assistance to the Kailua Learning Center.
I have been associated with the Center for the past six years. During that
time, the Kailua Learning Center has had approximately 400 adult students
registered for various reasons. I have tutored students in reading, writing,
GED preparation, typing, spelling, and preparation for the driver's license
test. I have also participated in the Family Literacy Classes, Computer
Literacy Classes, and Tutor Training Classes held at the Center.
The Kailua Learning Center needs your funding in order to stay open and
continue to serve the critical needs of the adults in our community.

Monday -Saturday The Kona Literacy Council needs the support of the County Council
to continue operating our Kailua Learning Center located in the Alii
Free Tutoring in Sunset Plaza, Kailua-Kona. We originally received funds from Act 68,
'Reading the State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations Employment
and Training Fund beginning Sept. 1, 1992 through August 30, 1993.

generous personal donations from the community.
