A dream come true, only to be spoiled by a nightmare of $2.00 per person per day fee. The nightmare became a reality just weeks before the pool is to officially open. I don't know anything about Mr.Stan Roehrig nor the others who had keys for their private use. But, they got to swim free all this time. Now I and my family and friends have to find $2.00 every time we want to refresh ourselves or to exercise. There is no fairness nor justice when it comes to those who have and those who have not. I have thirteen grandchildren. That comes to $26.OG per day. Maybe those who have, can afford $26.00 per day. Those of us who don't have, can use this $26.00 to buy groceries, pay the gas bill just to drive to the pool, or rent videos and spend the whole weekend at home. I don't feel that was the intent of the swimming pool so that I and my family can stay home watching videos. If my family and I need to pay to swim in the pool then you had better be making the users of the other facilities pay for their privileges of: walking, jogging, biking, shooting baskets, hitting tennis balls, etc. How disgusting of Hilo to even think about charging fees.
