Re: Budeetin for the Konawaena Pool
Dear Council Members:
I would like to submit this letter as testimony in support of maintaining the Konawaena
Swimming Pool. Please appropriate the necessazy funds to do this. Also, for the record,
please ask Parks and Recreation, during the heazing, if the amount they're requesting
includes the maintenance and staffmg for the Konawaena Pool. Without a specific record
of this agreement, monies may be moved around. Please don't close the pool for "lack of
funds". It services so many schools in South Kona. Even when the pool opens in Kailua
- our Konawaena Pool shouldn't be closed. The cost factor of busing kids to town and
back five days in a row, for the water safety classes, is prohibitive.
Plcasc do all you can to secure funding for maintaining the Konawaena Pool.
Thank you and Aloha,
Nalani Merrill
