I am greatly concerned over the announcement that the Hawaii
County Band will cease to exist after June 30, 1999. The announcement
was made at the Band's Valentine's Day Cocnert last February 13, 1999
at the Mooheau Bandstand.
Together with many, many others I have been the beneficiary of
the beautiful music the Hawaii County Band has provided the Big Island
community. I know I express the sentiments of a large number of our
citizens who urgently request you to see to it that the Band is able
to continue to perform.
