Our Department has long recognized the environmental, energy efficiency, and economic benefits of recycling. We continue, through our Clean Hawaii Center, to support Big Island businesses who divert recyclables from the waste stream and manufacture resalable products. This type of remanufacturing activity not only reduces the volume of materials entering landfills, but creates jobs and revenues. Your continued support of recycling via diversion grants for paper, plastic, greenwaste and other materials, support for hazardous waste collection, and educational vutr%au 'v'Jiii be ieS3 ExpE:tSi~%2 iir the i0iig run than CUf7ttlllled landflllmg.
