RESOLUTION NO. 171 15
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NA`ALEHU THEATER
FOR EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2015 HILO SLACK KEY MUSIC
FESTIVAL.
WHEREAS, Na`alehu Theater is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that aims to preserve
and perpetuate Hawai`i's rich culture and history; and
WHEREAS, Na`alehu Theater will assist with the 2015 Hilo Slack Key Music Festival
and the expenses associated with the promotion and production of the Festival; and
WHEREAS, the main focus of the 2015 Hilo Slack Key Festival is to perpetuate and
honor an indigenous art form; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Na`alehu Theater for the
2015 Hilo Slack Key Music Festival; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and the Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
