Comm. 112: FISCAL YEAR 2015-2016 NONPROFIT GRANT REVIEW PROCESS AND
FORMATION OF AN AD HOC COMMITTEE
From Human Services and Social Services Committee (HSSSC) Chair Maile David,
dated January 29, 2015, describing the nonprofit grant review process and
requesting formation of an ad hoc committee. The ad hoc committee would conduct
application reviews with the applicants for the County’s annual nonprofit grant
awards and then report its findings to the HSSSC.
Postponed: February 17 and March 31, 2015
(Note: There is a pending motion by Ms. Wille and duly seconded by Mr. Onishi to
close file on Comm. 112.)

ORGANIZATIONS
From Human Services and Social Services Committee (HSSSC) Chair Maile David,
dated March 23, 2015, transmitting the HSSSC Ad Hoc Committee’s
recommendations for grant funding to nonprofit organizations for inclusion in the
County of Hawai‘i Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2015-2016. A total of
137 eligible applications were received, with requests totaling $5,531,736.16. The
recommendations have been developed through a review of all applications with
each applicant.

The email shall indicate the appropriate Committee or Council meeting, the meeting date, agenda item
(communication, bill, resolution, or report number), and number of testifiers on the video submittal.

Video submittals may contain up to three individual testifiers and shall each be up to three minutes in
length. Video testimony will not be played during the meeting; however, it will be distributed to Council
Members prior to the meeting. The Office of the county Clerk reserves the right to refuse testimony
containing inappropriate content or that is not in compliance with Council Rule 13 (Public Statements and
Testimony).
