Members of the Council;
I won't take up your time except to make one final plea to do the job
right the first time. It makes no sense to me to give concessions to any
developer that will not give much in return. If SCD Kahakai says that they
will only put in 981ots for all the concessions that are being given, let them
get the proper zoning. If you allow sub-standazd infrastructure and then not
make them adhere to what they promise as site density you are setting the
stage for future problems. According to my interpretation of the available
drawings, the proposed development will contain 60 acre lots and 38
half-acre lots. If you split the acre lots in half and add the 381ots you come up
with a total of 1581ots which would require far more infrastructure.
At the previous council meeting l heazd a council member state that it
was only a short time and distance to Kahakai School. The other morning I
drove it from my home, which would be closer and the distance was 1.9 miles
and the time was 6 minutes. This is not beneficial to the community. It puts
needless vehicles and people on the road.
The other misconception that is bantered about is a gated community.
When Marty Ohan and I met with the developers one of the questions we
asked about, was the development to be a gated. There was no direct answer
but the impression we both got, plus the conceptual drawing of the entrance
was not showing a gate. If a Mauka- Makai is not required then the least that
should be required is an access to the new Alii Roadway. This is the purpose
of the new design of the roadway. To connect the community. Please listen
to our representatives and show the community your support. Thank You.
