Comments: To Hawaii County Council Members,
The SCD Kahakai Development plan that is on your agenda for Dec.15 1999 has a major flaw
that must be corrected prior to passage of the subdivision development. The necessary
modification is related to transit accessability mauka and makai of the development. If the
planned Alii Parkway was already in existence, the necessary change in the plans would be self
evident. In granting the approval of the development and its subsequent construction and
habitation it will be an action by the County Council that will have an effect upon Kona for
decades to come. A short delay to adjust this access problem will provide the element of
adjustment to get it right. I ask that, you the legal representatives of the County of Hawaii, take
the above into consideration and approve the plan only when the adjustments have been made.
