I would ]ice to call your attention, before you vote on Bill S0, to the remarks of Brenda
Ford and the Kuakitti Makai Homeowners Association which appeared on December 14,
1949 in th, letters to the editor of West Hawaii Today.
I£Kuakim Makai Homeowners Association's letter is correct and anything near 120 units
is constructed by 5CD Kahakai Development, we are all facing a tragic and very
expensive event should this area experience a tsunami.
In day>t hours Alii Drive is now confronted with heavier traffic than it was designed
for. Ima€ jne a tsunami cresting on this area at night when all the residents and their cars
are attem;~ting to flee to higher ground. Walking through the scntb above this proposed
development would be a nightmare- Consider the ambiguous vehicle access proposed so
far for thf: Towne Development units above White Sands Beach Estates. Imagine the
multiplier effect.
Can we depend on the tsunami to wait until the mauka-makai connections change from
proposals into roads?
