RESOLUTION NO. 182 15
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
OF STREET SENSE AND STREET ANALYTICS LICENSES FOR USE
BY THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, The Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation is purchasing for, and
donating to, the Hawaii Fire Department, licensing for Street Sense and for Street
Analytics software; and
WHEREAS, this software, with a combined value of $14,000 will be utilized by
the Hawaii Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services Bureau; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAPI that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 1285, Kailua-
Kona, HI 96745, acknowledging this generous donation.
