Enclosed is a resolution accepting the donation of a winch, two all -terrain vehicles with
trailers, one public announcement system, payment for a Swiftwater Training Rescue
course, and one high pressure firefighting pump by the Daniel Sayre Memorial
Foundation, P.O. Box 1285, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745. This equipment and training,
with a value of $55,472.47 will be utilized by the Hawaii Fire Department's Ocean
Safety and Fire Protection programs.

RE: Resolution No. 183-15 : RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
A DONATION OF EQUIPMENT TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above -referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.

Please prepare a resolution to accept donation of 1) a winch for utility vehicle, 2) two all terrain vehicles
(ATV) with trailer, 3) a public announcement (PA) system, 4) payment for Swiftwater Training Rescue course
and 5) a high pressure firefighting pump for a combined value of $55,472.47 from the Sayre Foundation.
