ABSTRACT
A deep geothermal well in California has tapped a very saline brine extraordinarily high in heavy metals and
other rare elements: copper and silver are precipitated during brine production. Preliminary evidence
suggests that the brine may be pure magmatic water and an active ore -forming solution. Metamorphism of
relatively young rocks may also be occurring within accessible depths.

lithium... Magnesium (moderately high) however there is
also uranium present at 0.16% - this is a curiously high
concentration. we would focus first on the lithium as this is
the most valuable but other chemical compounds may also

Mr Tanaka from the Bureau of Land Management stated that he was present and witnessed the
magma incident at the Ormat-PGV plant in October of 2005. Mr. Tanaka stated that Ormat-PGV
was not required to make an accident report because it was not an accident as Ormat was
intentionally trying to hit a magma chamber.
