SUBJECT: Re: Bill 47; An Ordinance amending Chapter 14, Article 11, of the Hawai` i
County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended). relating to Neighborhood Watch
signs.
Attached is a letter from Guy K. Schutte, chair of the Hawaii County Police Commission,
expressing support for a draft of Bill 47, which was presented to the commission on March 20,
2015.
Please distribute this to Council members for the May 5, 2015. meeting of the Public Safety and
Mass Transit Committee.

Dear Council Member Pagan:
Thank you for attending the Police Commission's meeting on March 20, 2015. The
commission appreciates you taking time out of your busy schedule to give us
information on your proposed amendment to the county's ordinance concerning
neighborhood watch signs. We support the amendments and are glad you are
working with the police department on the logistics.
