Buckman, of Council District 5 to the County of Hawaii Police Commission. Mr. Buckman is a 30 -year resident of Hawaii. He is a Department of Defense retiree, and is presently self-employed as an Orchid Hybridizer. Mr. Buckman is a former member of the State Invasive Species Rapid Response Team, former chair of the Sierra Club Toxic Waste Committee, past board member of Lyon Arboretum, and past board member and officer of various orchid societies. He states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, Mr. Buckman will fill a vacant term to end on December 31, 2018.
