RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
OF A DIGITAL VIDEO RECORDER AND CAMERAS TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
WHEREAS, the Keaukaha Community Association is donating one (1) digital
video recorder and three (3) surveillance cameras, valued at $4,474.97 to the
Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized to provide video surveillance
exclusively at Kawananakoa Gym and Hualani Park in Keaukaha; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to the Keaukaha Community Association, 162 Baker Avenue, Hilo,
Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
