Enclosed is a resolution accepting the donation of three surveillance cameras and a digital
video recorder, valued at $4,474.97 to the Department of Parks and Recreation. This
donation, from the Keaukaha Community Association, 162 Baker Avenue, Hilo, Hawaii
96720 will be utilized to provide video surveillance at Kawananakoa Gym and Hualani
Park in Keaukaha.
The Department of Parks and Recreation requests that this resolution be waived from the
Finance Committee and be placed on the May 19, 2015 Council Agenda in order to
receive and utilize this equipment as soon as possible. If there are any questions, please
do not hesitate to call Reid Sewake, of the Department of Parks and Recreation at 961-
8560.

To accept the donation of a DVR and three cameras with accessories from the Keaukaha Community
Assocation (KCA), 162 Baker Avenue, Hilo. This equipment shall be utilized at Kawananakoa Gym and
Hualani Park in Keaukaha to provide video surveillance for the facility. The value of this equipment is
$4,474.97.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Keaukaha Community Assocation (KCA), 162 Baker Avenue, Hilo, is donating a DVR and three
cameras with accessories. These equipment will be utilized to provide video surveillance at Kawananakoa
Gym and Hualani Park in Keaukaha. This equipment shall be used for the exclusive use of the Keaukaha
Gym and Hualani Park Facility.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
A DONATION OF A DIGITAL VIDEO RECORDER AND CAMERAS TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above -referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
