SUBJU-1: Discussion regarding a comprehensive update to the General Plan
I am requesting 45 minutes for a discussion on a comprehensive review of the General Plan, and
what council members would like to see in the upcoming review process.
Section 16.1(3) of the General Plan states that the Planning Director shall establish a deadline for
Council -initiated amendments during the comprehensive review, which shall be "not less than"
120 days after the initial notice.
The initial notice was issued February 6, 2015, and the Planning Director has set a deadline of
120 daps later. on June 6, 2015. As of today, no resolutions proposing amendments to the
General Plan, or requests to waive to the Council, have been referred to the Planning Committee.
For color information. the Planning Director has graciously agreed to extend the deadline by two
months for the Council to submit any resolutions amending the General Plan. The new deadline
has not Net been announced, but it is expected to be in the first week of August.
Please refer this item to the next available committee agenda on June 2, 2015.
