COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1.93 2;i <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF <br />LABOR AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-71 <br />FOR A WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT <br />GRANT <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations has authorized <br />Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds to be provided to the County of <br />Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, the funds will be used to assist adults, dislocated workers and youth <br />by providing services that will train individuals to increase employment, retention, <br />earnings, skills and literacy; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br />departments obtain the consent of the Council to enter into agreements with the Federal <br />or State governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted <br />by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with <br />projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br />accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County of <br />Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and related <br />documents with the State of Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to enable <br />the County to accept funds to be used as indicated above. <br />
