Subject: TESTIMONY
I urge you to remove county funding and purchases of Round Up/glyphosate and neonicotinoids from the
budget and stop county use of these chemicals immediately and permanently. Stop poisoning our reefs,
our bees, our keiki with these chemicals.
You, as a council, have the opportunity to put Hawaii Island on the map as a forward thinking, environmentally
aware community. Will our maintenance crews have to rethink how they do things? Absolutely. But it can be
done!
And just think of the opportunity this will give our island in catering to "green" travelers. Eco -conscious
travelers seek out vacation spots that "do less harm." Be on the forefront of change here in Hawaii!
