spraying poison
Dear Honorable Council Members,
I am submitting testimony today regarding the continued reckless spraying of chemical herbicides in public areas. I
live on Honoka'a-Waipio Road in Kapulena. I planted some perennial peanut near the road and have a nice patch of grass
there as well. Apparently, the sprayer guys have no sense about beautification and why would there be a need to spray
grass that is kept mowed. They also spray the peanut which has pretty yellow flowers. My dogs are fenced in, but there
are a lot of people who walk their dogs in the area. We are all learning that glyphosphate is bad for our health. Maybe
some weedeater crews in certain places would work better. I see a lot of unnecessary spraying going on. I see them even
on rainy days. It's time to take a good hard look at the way we take care of the land -keeping in mind, the land takes care
of us. Thank -you so much for your time, and hopefully, the citizens and creatures of the world will get a reprieve from
being drenched with poison.
