Subject: Please remove funding for Roundup and other toxic chemicals
Importance: High
Aloha Council Members,
Please remove funding for Roundup and other toxic chemicals from next year's budget!
The World Health Organization's cancer research department recently reported (after years of their
own unbiased extensive research) that glyphosate (marketed in USA as Round -Up) is a "probable
carcinogen"... which is second only to their most dangerous category, "known carcinogen'.
Roadside spraying washes into our ground water all over the Island, contaminating our drinking
water, and destroying the microorganisms in the soil far from where it is sprayed!
Oftentimes, young school children walk along blocks of just sprayed County roadside to and from
school, exposing them these evaporating "probable carcinogens". This must stop.
Further exposure to our extremely valuable and rapidly depleting pollinators is also of grave concern.
If you love the aina, you will work to stop poisoning it. It's that simple.
Mahalo & Aloha,
