These funds will be granted to The Food Basket for warehouse improvements and equipment at Na Kahua Hale 0 Uluwini in District 8. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $5,000 to the Office of Housing and Community Development's The Food Basket, Inc. Miscellaneous Contract Services account within the Housing Fund. The Office of Housing and Community Development requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the June 3, 2015 Council Agenda in order to appropriate the funds during the current fiscal year. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): As described in concurrent Resolution No. 123-15, these funds will be contracted with the Food Basket, Inc. for warehouse improvements and equipment at Na Kahua Hale 0 Uluwini. We are requesting these funds to be appropriated in the Housing Fund. To expedite this matter, the Office of Housing and Community Development humbly requests a waiver from the Finance Committee and have this bill heard at the Council meeting scheduled for June 3, 2015. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review.
