RESOLUTION NO. 214 15
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO '0 KA`U KAKOU,
INC., FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES THAT
PROMOTE AGRICULTURAL TOURISM.
WHEREAS, '0 Ka`u Kakou, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides for
the wellbeing of Ka`u residents through various community events, repair and restoration
activities, scholarships, installation of safety equipment, maintenance and home repairs for the
elderly, and assisting other nonprofits; and
WHEREAS, '0 Ka`u Kakou Inc., is requesting funds to enhance and promote
agricultural tourism in the Kali district; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to '0 Ka`u Kakou, Inc., for
community engagement and outreach activities that promote agricultural tourism; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $15,000
CREDITED TO: Department of Research and Development $15,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
