RESOLUTION NO. 215 15
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A
LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR
FOR A MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH OCEANIC TIME
WARNER CABLE
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract,
lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a
later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year
agreement for five (5) years with Oceanic Time Warner Cable to provide a fiber
connection which will significantly increase internet bandwidth for the County; and
WHEREAS, the agreement will increase the connection speed to the internet
from 20 megabytes to 100 megabytes, providing a significant improvement to
Internet performance with a minimal additional monthly cost; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year
agreement with Oceanic Time Warner Cable.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the
agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Cleric of the County of
Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the
Department of Information Technology, and the Finance Department.
