RESOLUTION NO. 220 15
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HUI `AUMAKUA
SPORTS INC. FOR TRAVEL EXPENSES TO COMPETE IN THE WEST ZONE
WORLD SERIES IN SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, Hui `Aumakua Sports Inc. ("Hui `Aumakua") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that aims to provide Hawaii's youth with the opportunity to participate in baseball
and other amateur sports; and
WHEREAS, Hui `Aumakua is dedicated to achieving excellence while demonstrating
humility; and
WHEREAS, Hui `Aumakua's Hawai`i All-Star Team (Pinto Division) consists of
children from various districts and baseball organizations that have come together to represent
Hawaii Island in the West Zone World Series in San Jose, California; and
WHEREAS, Hui `Aumakua is requesting funds to assist with expenses related to airfare,
lodging, and transportation for the Hawaii All-Star Team (Pinto Division) to compete in this
national tournament; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hui `Aumakua Sports Inc. to assist
with travel expenses to compete in the West Zone World Series in San Jose, California; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
