SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
We have been informed by the Hawaii County Transit Agency that the Bus
Stop located on Mamo Street at Kilauea Avenue is no longer in use due to
the Downtown One -Way Reversal.
We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Section
24-275, Schedule 23 (Bus Stop Locations) be amended.
A sketch illustrating the affected area is attached for your information
and use.

ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, OF THE HAWAII
COUNTY CODE 1983, RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 3,
section 24-275, schedule 23, subsection (a) South Hilo, item (20)
of the Hawaii County Code 1983, relating to bus stop locations,
is amended to read as follows:
"(20) [Mamo Street, north side, beginning from the mauka
side of Kilauea Avenue and extending in the mauka direction for a
distance of sixty feet.] RESERVED."
SECTION 2. New material is underscored. Material to be
deleted is bracketed. In printing this ordinance, the brackets,
bracketed material, and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 3. If any provision of this ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or circumstances is held
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or
applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without
the invalid provision or application, and to this end, the
provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.

Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred Communication
No. 1315 and its attached Bill No. 206, reports as follows:
Bill No. 206 proposes to amend the Bus Stup Locations section of the
Hawaii County Code by deleting the Bus Stop located on Mamo Street
directly mauka of the Kilauea Avenue/Mamo Street intersection. The
Hawaii County Transit Agency has informed us that due to the Downtown
Hilo Traffic Reversal, the mentioned Bus Stop is no longer in use.
Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 3; Section 24-275, Schedule 23,
Subsection (a) South Hilo, Item (20), of the Hawaii County Code 1983,
Relating to Bus Stop Locations is amended by deleting the following:
(20) [Memo Street, north side, beginning from the mauka
side of Kilauea Avenue and extending in the mauka
direction for a distance of sixty feet.] Reserved.
Your Committee on Public Works concurs with the intent and purpose of
Bill No. 206 and recommends its passage on first reading by the full
Council.
