The purpose is to provide proper sight distance for vehicles entering Ponahawai Street from Kapiolani Street. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28, subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983, relating to no parking at any time, is amended by adding a new item to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: "( ) Ponahawai Street, on the Hamakua side, beginning at Kagiolani Street and extending one hundred fifty-two feet in the mauka direction." SECTION 2. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the underscoring need not be included. SECTION 3. If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to he severable. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval. Hilo. The Department of Public Works forwards that the purpose for this bill is to provide for proper sight distance for vehicles entering Ponahawai Street from Kapiolani Street.
