RESOLUTION NO. 247 15
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL
YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR
ONE MULTIFUNCTION COPY MACHINE FOR THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY
CLERK, ELECTIONS DIVISION.
WHEREAS, the current copy machine that is located at the Office of the County Clerk,
Elections Division, is seven years old and obsolete; and
WHEREAS, the lease for the current copy machine was extended, but has recently
expired; and
WHEREAS, the monthly lease payment for a new multifunction copy machine will be
approximately $225 per month with an additional cost per copy not to exceed $0.0062 for black
and white and $0.0696 for color; and
WHEREAS, the Elections Division Equipment account (010.107.5107.10.450) for the
current fiscal year contains sufficient funds for the lease of one multifunction copy machine; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article X, Section 10-11 of the County Charter, any contract,
lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year
or of more than one fiscal year shall be made or approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-13 of the County Charter, the County
may enter into contracts with private parties, which shall be signed by the Mayor and be
approved by the Director of Finance as to the availability of funds; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five-year lease agreement for one multifunction copy
machine for the Office of the County Clerk, Elections Division.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds shall be budgeted in future fiscal
years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Honorable Mayor William P. Kenoi, Director of Finance, and County Clerk.
