We believe these minor modifications to this intersection will improve overall operations by reducing delays and general congestion. Since adding left turn bays will reduce existing lane widths, it will be necessary to remove parking on both sides of Kinoole Street at Hualalai Street. We have been in contact with business establishments in the immediate area and they have no objections to our proposal. We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-280, Schedule 28 (No Parking at Anytime) under South Hilo be amended. A location map is attached for your information and use. i. RUCE C. McCLURE, P.E. Chief Engineer EU:jjs cc: Chief of Police Legislative Auditor Traffic Division Comm.
