Purpose is to provide sufficient sight distance for motorists entering and exiting the medical facility. The Hilo Medical Group has sufficient off street parking for patrons and employees, and they concur with this amendment. We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-280, Schedule 28 (No Parking Anytime) under S. Hilo be amended. A map is attached for your information and use. :,BRUCE C. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28, subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983, relating to no parking at any time, is amended by adding a new item to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: "( ) waianuenue Avenue, Hamakua side, beginning at a point one thousand three hundred twenty feet west of the mauka access to Rainbow Drive and extenting two hundred fifty feet in the westerly direction." SECTION 2. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the underscoring need not be included. SECTION 3. If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval. REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS DATE: September 25, 1990 PLACE: Councilroom TIME: 9:00 a.m. Chairman and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred Communication No. 1970 and its attached Bill No. 331, reports as follows: Bill No. 331 proposes to amend Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-280, Schedule 28, Hawaii County Code 1983, relating to no parking anytime by adding a new item in Subsection C. The purpose of the bill is to provide adequate sight distance for motorists entering and exiting Hilo Medical Group by prohibiting parking on the Hamakua side of Waianuenue Avenue in front of the medical center. Communication No. 1970 from Chief Engineer Bruce McClure states that the no parking zone was requested by the South Hilo Traffic Safety Committee and that Hilo Medical Group has enough off street parking and concurs with the traffic code amendment. Your Committee on Public Works has reviewed Communication No. 1970 and Bill No. 331.
