The existing "No Parking Zone" begins at Iliahi Street and extends to Kauila Street. Presently, when vehicles are parked on both sides of Puueo Street, through traffic must cross the centerline to avoid parked cars. We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-280, Schedule 28 under S. Hilo, be amended. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28, subsection (c) South Hilo, item (112), of the Hawaii County Code 1983, relating to no parking at any time, is amended to read as follows: 11(112) Puueo Street, makai side, beginning at a point [one hundred twenty feet Puna of Ohai Street and extending in the Hamakua direction for a distance of one hundred fifty feet Hamakua of Ohai Street.] three hundred thirty-six feet north of Wailuku Drive and extending northerly to Kauila Street." SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28, subsection (c) South Hilo, item (114), of the Hawaii County Code 1983, relating to no parking at any time, is amended to read as follows: 11(114) [Puueo Street, makai side, from Iliahi Street to Kauila Street.] RESERVED." SECTION 3. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material, and underscoring need not be included. SECTION 4.. If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
