SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII GENERAL PLAN, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GENERAL
PLAN COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW PROCESS, RELATING TO
ROADWAY ACCESS IN THE DISTRICT OF KA`U DURING TIMES OF
FLOODING.
Attached please find the above-referenced Resolution. I am requesting that the attached
Resolution be waived through Committee and placed on the September 2, 2015 Council agenda;
however, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand this matter will be
referred to the appropriate committee.

RE: Resolution No. 258-15 : A Resolution Proposing an Amendment to the County of
Hawai`i General Plan, in Accordance with the General Plan Comprehensive Review
Process, Relating to Roadway Access in the District of Ka`u During Times of Flooding.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Planning to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Planning for placement on its future agenda.
