Subject: Bill 71
Aloha,
I would like to communicate that I support Bill 71.
I am a farmer here in Hawaii and had a landscape design install firm in Minnesota for 20 years. I know what it takes to
avoid Round up and it is impossible or even difficult. Mostly it just needs well thought out planning and implementation
of alternatives.
Plants themselves can be used to outcompete those we do not want. I use this tactic all the time.
Please vote for this Bill. Nothing, not even weeds are worth contaminating our ground water and killing our already
"Threatened" reefs. There is not enough soil and microbes in our earth here to capture and hold all the round up we are
putting on scorched earth. It moves like most everything else down ... down. I think if tested we would find glyphosate
and its 'inert ingredients' everywhere down to the water and reefs. The damage it does on a microscopic level cannot be
emphasized enough. Just because we cannot see it obviously has no bearing on if it exist or not.
Thank you,
Kally Goschke
