International evidence is mounting up, proofing that the active ingredient of "round up", Glyphosate is possible carcinogenic and the WHO is warning about the dangers of that overused chemical. No studies have been done on the whole chemical mixture which is called "round up". The dangers from this chemical for our waterways, ocean, soil and bodies are mostly unknown and not researched. Gyphosate is a very problematic chemical, since it is not only patented as a herbicide but also as a antibiotic and a chelator of important minerals for plant and human health. As an antibiotic it will destroy part of the healthy gut flora in mammals and allow pathogenic microorganisms, like E -coli, to overgrow the digestive tract, making nutrition from food unavailable. As an chelator it binds on Kations, like Mg, Fe and others, making them unavailable to plants and microbes in the soil with unknown consequences for the soil live and plants. The Norwegian government released a study that warns from Glyphosate residues in food and exposure from other sources. http://enok.no/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/010615 GENOK-HTIntactaBrazil-FINAL web.pdf Since the evidence of the dangers of Glyphosate are becoming public I think spraying a underresearched biocide along roadsides and in parks is a dangerous and irresponsible practice. The health of the residents should be of priority by choosing a mechanism of weed control in parks and along roadsides. In other countries torches, mowers and cover cropping are used as non toxic alternatives to chemical weed killers. Thank you for your time and consideration.
