Subject: Support Bill 71
We are writing in support of Bill 71 for the County to stop spraying herbicides on county
property. We feel that this practice exposes unsuspecting residents and tourists to these
harmful chemicals when they walk, or bike on the roads, and when using our parks.
Here in Ka'u, it is often windy, and the spray will drift beyond where it is intended.
We've experienced it blowing in our car window as we pass so now scramble to close the
windows and vents when we see the spray truck up ahead. Please do the right thing for
the people who use these public spaces. Thank you.
