Subject: Request for Submission of Testimony Re. Bill 71
Aloha, County Council Members,
I am a resident of Hilo, writing to ask you to support Bill 71, which prohibits toxic herbicides on all County owned or
maintained property.
Roundup and its ilk are designed to kill. They should not be manufactured, let alone released into our environment where
they can enter the water systems and find their way into our food, our bodies, and the 'aina. These noxious toxins impact
human and land health negatively, and should never be considered for public use.
Both of my parents have experienced immune system collapse following over-exposure to pesticides. They lost their
ability to work, and to raise their children without assistance. I have learned first-hand the damage that Monsanto's
agrochemicals cause to human life. Our bodies can not handle these chemicals.
Please, I urge you to ban all use of Roundup in the county.
