Subject: Support for Bill 71
I support the passing and implementation of Bill 71 to BAN Herbacides on all county
property.
I have watched in dismay for years as a poison has been sprayed along the roads that I
must travel on to get around the island.
I am someone who has done lots of research on these toxic chemicals and according to
new scientific finding — the chemicals in Roundup that are sprayed on our roads id
seriously dangerous to fetuses and all biological DNA integrity. This is why it kills plants.
My wife is pregnant and was forced to being exposed to this poison as she was driving
down the road just the other day. Since these chemicals are spayed in the air — everyone
who is around at the time of spraying and as the chemicals interact with the sun and heat
and are vapored into the air on our public roads — everyone is being exposed and
exposing our children to these harmful chemicals, which will have long term harmful
possibilities to our children.
This is pure insane behavior being practiced by county officials in the name of weed
control! THIS MUST STOP!!!
PLEASE do everything in your power to stop the poisoning of our children and our Aina.
There are other options to kill weeds on the side of the road — including salt and vinegar
solutions.
