Subject: Bill 71
Aloha,
I am writing in support of Bill 71. Please vote to ban the use of these toxic chemicals, which are known
carcinogens. It is alarming to see my neighborhood being sprayed in areas where children play and near
waterways. Many counties across the US have/are banning these chemicals because they are a threat to the
health of our people, animals, and wildlife. Bees are especially threatened due to use of these chemicals, which
in turn threatens our food security (bees pollinate most of our food plants) and also threatens the security of our
agriculture industries. Hawaii is an especially precious and fragile ecosystem. Please vote to ban application of
these chemicals for our long term health and well-being!
