SUBJECT: Resolution No. 249, Draft 2; A Resolution proposing an amendment to the
County of Hawai`i General Plan, in accordance with the General Plan
comprehensive review process, relating to geothermal resources development.
Attached is Resolution No. 249-15, as amended to Draft 2 by the contents of Communication
No. 417.3, as duly approved by the Council on. August 19, 2015. Prior to adopting the
amendment, Communication No. 417.3 was amended verbally to revise item 5 in the enacting
clause to read as follows (deleted material is bracketed and stricken through. added material is
underscored):
"5. Health impact studies should continue to be conducted and the findings and
recommendations from those studies [should] be made available to the
public and implemented."
The Council suspended Rule No. 24(e)(1), which requires that amended legislation be held over
for consideration at the next meeting of the Council, and adopted Resolution No. 249-15,
Draft 2.
