Uaz~___~JA~ g 1 1997, PLANNING COMMISSION'S GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR 1997 1. PASH Decision -impacts and interpretations and how to determine standing for a request for contested case hearing. Workshop with panel familiar with PASH decision. 2. Amendment to the Zoning Code relating to Geothermal. 3. Adopt amendments to Planning Commission Rule 4, Contested Case Hearing 4. Planning Commission to increase involvement as Presiding Officer(s) for contested case hearing. 5. Regional Planning for Kona. 6. Planning for 1997 HCPO Conference. 7. Comprehensive review of all Planning Commission rules. 8. Better communication and coordination with the County Council and Planning Committee. Possibility of Planning Commission member(s) to attend Committee/Council meetings. 9. Consistency in imposing conditions of approval relating to requirements of water, roadway improvements, fair share contribution, traffic impact analysis report, azchaeological survey. 10. Involvement in long range planning including General Plan Comprehensive Review. 11. Encourage Department of Public Works to establish/adopt highway standazds and rules in order to better assist the Planning Commission in its decision making. Policy on curbs, gutters and sidewalks in commercial and industrial zoned districts, as well as other zoned districts. 12. Corporation Counsel to continue to provide status of Appeals to Planning Commission's decisions to the Courts and Boazd of Appeals and Appeals of Board of Appeals' decision to the Courts. 13. Follow-up with Council on the adoption of Subdivision Code Revisions and Puna CDP.. 14.
