Dear Mr. Arakaki:
Please circulate this to the County Council in Reference to Bild 50, in connection with
the Public Hearing on Thursday, December 30, 1999, regarding the new SCD Kahakai
Subdivision.
We are home owners on Kupuna St in the Komohana Subdivision, adjacent to Lako
Street.
We aze requesting the County Council to require the developers of the SCD Kahakai
Subdivision to adhere to the previous plans and requirements that they put in a mauka-
makai connector through their subdivision,. If you do not require them to include this
road, all the cars going to and from this 100+ home subdivision will use Lako Street
and/or Kupuna Street and Royal Poinciana Streets to get to Alii Drive, the new Alii
Highway or Queen "K" Highway. There is already an unsafe number of cars traveling
these streets. Additional traffic must be given access to an additional connector in the
SCD Kahakai Subdivision.
Lastly, we further understand that the developer now wants to have utilities overhead
and exposed, as opposed to the initial plan which called for underground utilities. We
believe that the utilities should be underground, both for economic value and aesthetic
value.
