RESOLUTION NO. 276 1a
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE
FUTURE FOR HOKUPA`A YOUTH SUPPORT FORUMS IN 2015.
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is
to encourage people to contribute their values and to create shared visions to improve
communities, and is committed to working with Hokupa`a to collaborate for the success of the
youth and young adults in West Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS, Hokupa`a Youth Support Forums have been organized to align the work of
programs, organizations, and the community to improve the quality of life for youth and young
adults from the ages of 11 to 25; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Future and Hokupa`a have united to conduct Youth Support
Forums in West Hawai`i to make strong connections between agencies and education specialists
to lower the risk for young adult poverty, unhealthy lifestyles, low lifetime earning potential, and
reliance on social services; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of the Future for Hokupa`a
Youth Support Forums in 2015; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
