RESOLUTION NO. 280 1-5
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE
FIRST JUNIOR POLICE OFFICERS PROGRAM AT PAHOA ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Police Department has established Community Policing to
form a partnership with the community to create a safe and secure environment; and
WHEREAS, Community Police Officers are responsible for developing partnerships
within their designated communities through community mobilization, crime prevention efforts,
and problem solving; and
WHEREAS, Pahoa Elementary School is inaugurating its Junior Police Officers (JPO)
program in the 2015-2016 school year; and
WHEREAS, the Community Police Officers in Puna have requested funds to provide
equipment and supplies related to the JPO program at Pahoa Elementary School and for expenses
related to the JPO award celebration at the end of the school year; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Hawaii Police Department to assist with expenses related to the first Junior Police Officers
program at Pahoa Elementary School; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
