RESOLUTION NO. 286 15
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADDITION AND INCREASE OF BASIC FEES IN
THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE LIQUOR COMMISSION OF THE
DEPARTMENT OF LIQUOR CONTROL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, STATE OF
HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control administers the regulation of the
manufacture, importation, sale and consumption of intoxicating liquors to ensure compliance to
State and County laws through licensing and enforcement of these laws; and
WHEREAS, the Rules and Regulations of the Liquor Commission of the Department of
Liquor Control of the County of Hawai`i, State of Hawai`i have not been amended since 2006;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 281-17(a)(4) of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, as
amended, the Liquor Commission is authorized to amend its rules; and
WHEREAS, the Liquor Commission seeks to amend its rules to add basic fees as
follows:
Condominium Hotel $1,200.00
Winery 1,000.00
Small Craft Producer Pub 1,000.00,
and;
WHEREAS, the Liquor Commission seeks to increase its fees for Caterer from $120.00
to $600.00; and
WHEREAS, the addition of the basic license fees are to liquor classes adopted by the
Legislature and the increase in Caterer license is sought to make this fee commensurate and
competitive with other classes of licenses providing similar service; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 281-17.5 of the Hawai`i Revised Statues, as amended,
the legislative body of the County must approve any license fee or any increase in fees.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
pursuant to 281-17(a)(4) and 281-17.5 of the Hawai`i Revised Statutes, as amended, the addition
of the following fees:
Condominium Hotel $1,200.00
Winery 1,000.00
Small Craft Producer Pub 1,000.00,
and the increase of its fees for a Caterer license to $600.00 are hereby approved.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to: (1) Mayor
William P. Kenoi; and (2) Director of Liquor Control.
