The grant funds will <br /> be used to purchase 20 Whelen VERTEX Super-LED light kits for Traffic Enforcement <br /> Unit officers to conduct speed and aggressive driving enforcement with unmarked <br /> vehicles. In the current fiscal year's budget, $56,112 is appropriated for this grant. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the <br /> additional funds into the Aggressive Driving Project program account, and bringing the <br /> total grant appropriation to $60,112. <br /> The Police Department is requesting that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee <br /> review, and be placed on the October 7, 2015 Council Agenda in order expedite the <br /> receipt of these funds.
