Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year,
for a new multi-year lease agreement. This agreement is for one copy machine to be used
by the Office of the Corporation Counsel. Their current copier lease expires on
November 25, 2015. The estimated lease cost is approximately $8,000 per year.

A. REQUEST:
Multi-year lease for copier.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
New 5 year lease for copier. Current 5-year lease ends 11/25/15. Increased number of trouble calls and
longer down times have lead to this request for a new copier.
Specifications for a new lease include ability to copy, print, scan, and fax, 65ppm color, 75 ppm B&W,
77 ppm scanning, 100 sheet doc feeder, two 550-sheet cassettes, one 2,200-sheet LCT. Approximate
usage 240,000 B&W and 26,400 color.

RE: Resolution No. 290-15 : RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF
FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR
A MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR ONE (1) COPIER FOR THE OFFICE OF THE
CORPORATION COUNSEL.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
